Reflexology is based on the theory that there are a number of reflex points on the feet, hands and ears which are linked to various parts of the body. The area I focus on is the feet. Reflexology can be used not only as a form of relaxation but also to treat injuries and illnesses in the body.
Working with the foot, a reflexologist can determine points of imbalance and/or pain in the body. Through the use of specific massage techniques and application of pressure to these points, stress and pain can be relieved in the area of the body to which they relate.
Additional benefits are:
- Elimination of toxins in the body
- Stimulation of the central nervous system
- Improved blood circulation
- Reflexology is also a non-intrusive and alternative way of working on a client who may not be comfortable with a body massage.
Reflexology is a safe and non-invasive Treatment for all ages. It is the holistic understanding, study and practice of treating reflex points on the feet and/or hands that relate to corresponding parts of the body. Using precise hand and finger techniques, Reflexology has many benefits which can relieve pain including Pregnancy related discomfort. It can increase energy, aid surgery recovery and sleep issues, help Arthritis, improve circulation, prevent migraines, induce deep relaxation and aid depression and mental health.
After having Reflexology Treatments myself and experiencing the many benefits, I became more aware of its healing properties and I wanted to know more about it.
